Mea Culpa is a provocative thriller that pushes one of TP’s central characters (Mea) into morally-compromised territory: a successful lawyer juggles a complicated marriage, a dangerous case, and her own desires. The film mixes courtroom elements, seductive tension, and mystery — and while the intention is strong, the execution has left many viewers divided.

Mea Harper (played by Kelly Rowland), a high-powered criminal defence attorney with a rocky personal life. While her marriage is under strain and her home life full of tension, she takes on a high-profile case: defending a charismatic, seductive artist named Zyair Malloy (played by Trevante Rhodes), who is accused of murdering his girlfriend.

As the case progresses, the lines between professional obligation, desire, and personal risk begin to blur. Mea becomes drawn into Zyair’s world — his charm, his art, his secrets. But she must question: is he innocent, or dangerously guilty? And how far will her own impulses compromise her principles?
