After Daniel wins the All-Valley Karate Tournament, Mr. Miyagi receives word that his father in Okinawa is gravely ill. Daniel accompanies him to Okinawa, where Miyagi must confront unresolved conflicts from his past—particularly a feud with his former best friend, Sato, who still harbors anger over a romantic rivalry from decades earlier.
In Okinawa, Daniel meets Kumiko, a kind and artistic young woman, and becomes entangled in local tensions. Sato’s hot-headed nephew Chozen repeatedly provokes Daniel, leading to clashes that escalate throughout the film.
